Beware of mounting kerb if you are on the side road where the left side is the slope station.
When changing to a lower gear, remember to BRAKE and slow down at the same time. Changing of gears is to COMPLEMENT braking.
Use the HANDBRAKE technique if necessary on road with slope. Alternatively, use the connect-disconnect clutch method (not recommended just in case stall)
Add a bit of gas in S and Crank course or risk the car stalling.
When reaching home at ssdc, slow the vehicle down to 2nd gear.
Slope: Before moving off signal right and do necessary safety checks. Remember to press the accelerator and NOT to just let go of the clutch.
Turn right before number and left after number in circuit.

Learn To Drive Manual - Lesson 7
What I have learnt driving in circuit:
Speed limit: 20km/h on straight road, 15km/h on bends, 1st and 2nd gear in circuit
- Press button before lifting handbrake so it doesnt grind
Tips: Get out of car in clockwise direction so traffic can be seen
REMEMBER: Dont look at gearbox
To control your accelerator, theortically place your heels on the floor. In actual case, place right foot pressed slightly against the right side of car.
After ebrake, remember to pull handbrake and put to neutral. Switch to gear 1 and move off.

Learn To Drive Manual - Lesson 6
Date: 1 feb 2013(Friday)
Location: Yishun MRT
Instructor: Mr Wong SSDC Manual (Bad mood today)
Mistakes I made:
1) Not changing to 1st gear after e brake and stopping at traffic junction
2) Not Changing to 2nd gear before reaching junction, school zone, left turn as well as hump (SLOW DOWN!).
Information: Look out for cars and pedestrians when right turn
Going to neutral and handbrake is not allowed in tp when stopping at junction
For slope (From http://www.carwale.com/forums/ViewThread-9322-p2.html):
1) Press clutch and brakes pedal.
2) apply hand brakes such that car does not move backwards and shift to neutral
3) when u have to move shift in 1st gear pressing the clutch and press accelerator a liitle more
4) start releasing the clutch car will start vibrating trying to move forward that time release hand brakes and press acclerator more ,releasing clutch fully.
5) then start driving normally

Learn To Drive Manual - Lesson 5
Instructor: Robert
Location: Sembawang MRT
What I have Learnt:
Switch to 2nd gear when turning at junctions
Learner speed limit: 60km/h
Steering wheel 1 round = 45 degrees
Steering wheel 1.5 round = 72 degrees
When doing left turn, turn wheel 0.25 of a revolution
When a car is at a speed for a wrong gear, the engine will roar.
It is something like a woo woo sound.
Change the gear whenever you hear the roaring sound instead of looking at the speedometer.
Tips from Hardwarezone:
When braking, see the rear mirror for awareness
See traffic light signals (amber) to standby moving off
Learn To Drive Manual - Lesson 4
Date: 2 Jan 2013 1400-1530pm
Location: Sembawang MRT
Instructor: Mr Phua
What I have learnt:
When U turning, the traffic light must go pass your shoulders
My steering is weak and must be improved.

Learn To Drive Manual - Lesson 3
Mistake Made:
Clutch Mistake 1: Release clutch pedal slowly from full clutch position instead of biting point.
Note: Releasing clutch slowly from full clutch is just to locate biting point position.
Clutch Mistake 2: Not holding the clutch there and letting the vehicle attain speed of walking man. Note: Let the vehicle attain speed so it dont stall. Notice that there is no point of contact between the biting point and when the pedal is fully clutched in.
Brake Procedure (Slow Speed):
1) Press brake lightly to slow car
2) Clutch in to prevent engine stall (> walking man speed)
3) Brake again slowly for final stop while fully clutched in
4) Put neutral gear, release clutch
5) Pull handbrake
Brake Mistake :
Braking too hard or never clutch in fast enough

Learn To Drive Manual - Lesson 2
Date: 22 Nov 2012
Time:1000-1130am
Location: Sembawang Car Park
Lesson 2:
Learn to locate half clutch position:
Once engine is in gear 1, release fully clutched pedal until engine starts to vibrate and press it down again. The point where engine starts to vibrate is the biting point.
"Memorize" the location of the biting point.
You will know where the biting point of the particular car is from experience.
Tutorials:
1) Going Straight
2) Left and Right turns
3) U turn
4) Stopping
Change to 2nd gear immediately after move off
Go faster when going straight, slow down at junction
